NEW DELHI: Tech giant Apple is said to unveil iOS 15 update in June this year. Now a new report has revealed that this latest version of the system will not land on some older iPhones. According to a report by a French website iPhoneSoft, the iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus and original iPhone SE will not get the latest software update. This means that the iPhone 7 series and later will get an iOS 15 update.
The report also adds that along with the iPhones, some iPads will also not get the iPadOS 15 update. iPadOS 15 may drop support for the iPad mini 4 (2015), iPad Air 2 (2014), and iPad 5 (2017), equipped with A8, A8X, and A9 chips, respectively.
If you are using any of these older iPhones or iPads then you will not be able to use the new features and security changes offered by Apple in the upcoming software version.
The Cupertino-based giant usually unveils the new version of its operating system at WWDC in June. Last year the company held a virtual event to unveil iOS 14 due to the pandemic situation.
Recently, Apple released the iOS 14.4 and iPadOS 14.4 updates. The update can be accessed on the Apple Developer Center.
With the new features Apple is making it easier and cooler to use the HomePod mini with your iPhone. The iOS 14.4 update has a new feature for the HomePod mini that utilises the speaker’s U1 chip.
The update also brings some new features on the Apple Watch app like "Time to Walk" and "Add Newest Workouts to Watch”.
