Facebook has announced a revamped version of its Access Your Information tool, making it easier for users to find and view their account data in one place.
Facebook launched its Access Your Information tool back in 2018, giving users a central place to view and download their personal data used with its services. After learning more about how people are using it, the platform is reorganizing the tool, giving “a new coat of paint, so that it’s even more usable and transparent.”

As such, Access Your Information now includes eight categories instead of two broader categories of data. Facebook has broken down Your Information and Information About You into Your Activity Across Facebook; Friends and Followers; Preferences; Personal Information; Logged Information; Ads Information; Apps and Websites Off of Facebook; as well as Security and Login Information.
All the above categories then break into subcategories and allow people to navigate the type of data they are looking for in a much easier way.
Furthermore, Facebook has also added search functionality, letting people find data categories by searching for them. For example, you could search for “location” to find your location history.
You can also find information about how your data is being used to personalize your experience on Facebook. For example, your primary location could be one of the signals that informed a recent ad for a food delivery app, and you can find this information through the tool – not just through Why Am I Seeing This on an ad.
Facebook revamped Access Your Information based on how people interacted with it, and the new categories were created based on what people were already clicking on.
The revamped took is available on iOS and Android and will soon be available on other platforms.
