  • Apple rolled out the iOS 14 beta 7 and iPadOS 14 beta 7 for developers on Thursday.
  • Now that public betas are rolling out as well, everyone with an iOS or iPadOS device can try out the new software and all of the features that Apple is adding this fall.
  • iOS 14 is a massive update packed with hundreds of new features that you can read about right here — some highlights include home screen widgets, new Compact UI features, an App Library with all of your installed apps, and the redesigned Messages app.

Apple has been releasing iOS and iPadOS updates at such a rapid pace in recent days, it’s been hard to keep up with all of them. Just two days ago, iOS 13.7 rolled out to the public, bringing COVID-19 Exposure Notifications Express to the platform, which allows iPhone users to opt-in to exposure notifications without having to download a separate app.

A week before that, we got iOS 14 beta 6, and now that beta version is already obsolete, as beta 7 is now available to developers. Based on Apple’s recent release schedule, a public beta should be coming soon as well. We’ll be sure to let you know when the public betas roll out so that everyone can check out the new features and fixes.

More information about both the iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 beta releases will be published on Apple’s website shortly.

If you want, you can also install the update through iTunes by connecting your iOS device to your computer. Whichever method you choose, just make sure to back up your device before installing the update.
