- Apple recently released the iOS 13.6.1 and iPadOS 13.6.1 updates. This is a review of Apple iOS 13.6.1
Apple recently released the iOS 13.6.1 and iPadOS 13.6.1 updates. This update was released about a month after Apple launched Apple iOS 13.6, which contained the Apple Car Keys and Audio Apple News+ feature.
The Apple Car Key feature released in iOS 13.6 works as a digital key to lock and unlock vehicles. And the Apple News+ Audio feature added narrated audio stories from Apple’s News team.
Apple iOS 13.6.1 fixes three bugs. The three bugs involve storage optimization issues, thermal management, and a problem with Exposure Notifications. These are the release notes:
iOS 13.6.1 includes bug fixes for your iPhone.
– Addresses an issue where unneeded system data files might not be automatically deleted when available storage is low
– Fixes a thermal management issue that caused some displays to exhibit a green tint
– Fixes an issue where Exposure Notifications could be disabled for some users
Just a small percentage of users were affected by the green tint issue. However, the bug where unneeded system data files were not being deleted was especially a hassle for iOS users who are almost out of storage on their devices.
Apple iOS 13.6.1 Issues:
Apple iOS 13.6.1 has been causing some charging issues for a small number of users, according to Forbes. And a user on the Apple Discussion forums said that the iOS 13.6.1 update caused a battery draining issue on the iPhone 11 Pro.
Updating To Apple iOS 13.6.1:
You can update to iOS 13.6.1 and iPadOS 13.6.1 by going to the Settings app > General > Software Update. Apple iOS 13.6.1 works on all devices that are compatible with iOS 13 so it works on the iPhone 6S and newer and the 7th generation iPod touch.
Apple iOS 14:
During the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), Apple revealed the iOS 14 features that will be released this fall as well. iOS 14 features new widgets, an App Library, compact Siri and phone calls, improved search, picture-in-picture, pinned messages, mentions in the Messages app, cycling directions and guides in Maps, and App Clips. Apple iOS 14 is expected to arrive sometime in September or October.
